Setbacks And Redos And Title Sequences, Oh My! (09-2024 W0)


Unfortunately, due to some technical issues, I lost an awful lot of work on the overworld ^^; Ended up having to do much of it all over again. Still made a good amount of progress with things such as…

  • Polishing up the Pause Menu functionality
  • Improving the overworld movement
  • Cleaning up VFX-implementation


Working on this project, I’ve long come to realize just how many moving parts a turn-based RPG has... Most of those are in the battle system itself, but things like the UI have a lot going on as well. Courses for this genre of game, while good starting points, only scratch the surface of what it takes to make reasonably-robust RPG systems. Going through so much effort yet seeing you’re far from done can be a bit discouraging, but hey. It’s a learning experience. xD
